Get to keep 5. No need to list the entire roster, these are what I'm considering:

JP Arencibia $1
Jesus Montero $10
Howie Kendrick $13
Jhonny Peralta $10
Erick Aybar $10
Desmond Jennings $6
Brennan Boesch $3
Justin Smoak $3

Justin Verlander $34
Joe Nathan $5

Roster is normal, + 1 OF (4 in all, obv.), 1 UT, 1 MI and 1 CI, 9 Pitchers. Budget is $275.

Pitching was my weak point of the team. Undecided on keeping Verlander at this point, considering I can build an offense around 4 guys for about the same price as 1 player. Input on this?

I agree, but would add in Arencibia too

Damn, missed Montero there. I love Montero, but who knows when he gains eligibility at C.

I considered keeping both Montero and Arencibia since there's the UT to fill as well. Also leaning towards keeping Peralta since after Andrus I have him rated as the 2nd best SS.

Just curious, but did you have any offensive studs?

Teixeira and Longoria (in a down year). But not keeping Tex at $41 with the depth at that position to get someone else. There also was Crawford, but we know what happened there.

Who else in the AL would you rate up there with Andrus? If it was both AL and NL of course the opinion would be much different on Peralta.

How much?

Asdrubal is ahead of Peralta. I like Hardy as well. Not a fan of Ramirez for some reason, but he could be above Peralta as well.

Longoria was $15, but league rule is once the contract extension is up, he goes back into the auction pool. And I only extended him through last season, 4th year on my team. I think I started out with him the year before he was a full time player.

Fair enough on Cabrera and Ramirez. I think Hardy is just too inconsistent and could wind up with half the stats he had last season. Looking over the rosters I wouldn't be surprised if Cabrera ($11) and Hardy ($6) are 1 of 5 kept by those who drafted them.

Arencibia would be good if you aren't in a league that scores batting average. Dude will be lucky to hit .220

Smoak at $3 could be a good steal

I've gotten frustrated with Smoak. I saw him play a number of games when he was in the Cape Cod league prior to the draft, then based on that when he was moving up with Texas got him cheap. Forget if I had held onto him the first year if he didn't play, but I would get him back eventually. I'm not too high on the Mariners offense so for me it comes down to either Montero or Smoak, but not both.

The league does not count AVG, but both OBP and SLG separate. H/AB, R, HR, SB, and RBI for offense. After reading what's been mentioned here I am leaning towards keeping both Montero and Arencibia and letting everyone else fight it out over John Jaso and Miguel Olivo to fill their roster.
