CBSSports.com updated its RPI this morning, LSU is at 67 after last night's win. I believe we were about 73 before last night.

Bad news is that LSU is not likely to play another top 70 RPI team before the SECT. Ole Miss is at 52 now, but they have Vandy tonight followed by trips to UK and UT before LSU goes to Oxford.

So do we root for Ole miss or against them the next few games? A couple big wins for them could also hurt us I think.

LSU needs their next 5 opponents to win their games except the ones vs LSU, IMO

I think it would help if they beat Vandy and won at UT. I'm not sure they (or anybody else in the conference) have even a prayer at Rupp this year. With those two wins, they would likely be a top 50 RPI team when we go up there.

Get into the 50's and win out is the best we can hope for.

A loss to vandy and UK will likely keep their RPI high

Root for...

SEC West teams against SEC East teams
Nichols State
Coastal Carolina
Northwestern
Western Kentucky
Georgia Tech
South Alabama
Houston
Rutgers
Boise State
UC Irvine
Marquette
North Texas
Grambling
Virginia

SEC West vs SEC West wont matter RPI wise

there are no SEC West teams

Nichols State (301)
Coastal Carolina (149)
Northwestern (60)
Western Kentucky (250)
Georgia Tech (183)
Houston (209)
Rutgers (142)
Boise State (181)
UC Irvine (274)
Marquette (16)
North Texas (188)
Grambling (342 out of 344!!!!)
Virginia (20)
South Alabama(150)

our non-conference slate is not much help. Our win against Marquette is nice, but wins against either Northwestern or Virginia would have solidified our place in the NCAA 68 if we finish 10-6 conference, not to mention wins against Coastal Carolina and South Alabama.

Excuse me, the teams that LSU play twice that are associated with the SEC West football division

basketball scheduling is still based on the old divisions, so quit banging your head, you will get a concussion for no reason

CC and SA games were brutal losses, and terrible to watch

I would feel a lot better being 17-8 with no real bad losses than 15-10 with 2 bad losses

And even being in the 50s is unlikely to do it as an at-large. At that point, the Tigers winning 9 of their last 10 would be hugely important.

All joking aside, it would be good to get our younger players as many practices and games as possible.

You're gonna have to be in the rpi 30s and below to get in with all of the automatics.

If we win out and do well in the SEC tourney, I think we could slip in
