3 SHO's in that sample.

But I'm sure the pitching is what hurt Javy's sticks in those games.

:amirite?

And that is 3 games out of 30. Our pitching was just as big a problem last year. In this day and age, if you have a team ERA over 4 like we did that is not very good at all.

Lots of good things said. Lots of homework on statistics in the past. What does it have to do with this year? One thing. Our team is more experienced. Our pitchers are better. Our hitters are better. Our coaching staff is better, thanks to the addition of Dunn. And, our leadership is pissed off about last year. So, what does that mean for us now??? It means that our hits with RISP will go up. Our ERA will go down. And, we will be going to Omaha. Here is the question that we all need to know. What was the ranking of the freshman class of 2008?

If you look at Sanchez his coaching experience is strictly at LSU. He did not work his way up like most good assistants who pick up tidbits from the places they have been. He came straight off a minor league baseball team and into college coaching at a very high level because he was a former player of PM.There is really nothing that leads me to believe they are going to better offensively. Its the same lineup that couldn't hit last year.

Maybe we should or maybe you should take the glasses off that you have on. I am not here advocating that the season is a wash right now. You just have to look at the number of guys in this lineup that are going to be high draft picks and tiger fans there aint none. Now look at Florida's line up and its full of them. That's the difference.

I am talking about the returning 9 and the last time I looked the only underclassman in that bunch is Jones and Ross.

After seeing the SEC stats, LSU did not perform poorly in either pitching, nor hitting for the course of the 30 SEC schedule. So how did LSU miss the SEC tourny? They were simply, UNCLUTCH! If they pitched well, they didn't hit. If they hit well, they didn't pitch. They almost never got the big out, or the big pitch in the last 6 outs of the games. I remember one of the Auburn games, it was tied, or LSU had a 1 run lead, in the bottom of the 8th, LSU got the go ahead, or insurance run, on 2nd base with 0 outs, and did not score the run. In the top of the 9th Auburn had a 2 out rally and scored 1 or 2 runs to beat LSU that night. I remember that first the offense screwed the pooch, then the pitching collapsed in the 9th.

Very dumb of Javi to place all of the blame on the pitching.

My point was that I never heard a single scintilla of accountability being taken on by our hitting coach.

It was all talking about how the pitching was going to help them, & how the pitching hurt them last year.

That's it. No responsiblity or accountability.

LSU 0 Florida 1
LSU 2 UGA 3
LSU 0 Arkansas 2
LSU 3 Arkansas 4 (the 9th inning grand slam, but LSU scored 0 runs through 8 innings)
LSU 1 Auburn 3
LSU 0 Alabama 4
LSU 0 Alabama 9 (2 shut outs in a row)

Yep, all fault lies with the pitching.

The guy took absolutely zero responsibility as a coach for what happened in the batter's box or the basepaths last year, and talked about how much the pitching staff will help him this year, and how much it hurt him last year.

Did he say anything about his horrific 3rd base coaching?

He took no responsibility for anything. Absolutely nothing.

He did mention how much the pitching would help his hitting, and conversely how much the pitching hurt his hitting last year.

People here will tell you that we were awesome last year. We were good at the plate. We were good scoring runs. We were good with runner's in scoring position. There was actually no offensive statistic that we weren't good at.

Which means there's absolutely no problem with how we hit last year, in any way.

When I was in college, I worked for one of the best, most powerful lobbyists the Louisiana Legislature's ever seen.

He once testified in front of a Legislative Committee, and was asked to comment on statistics. I absolutely loved his response...

"You can make a computer play the song 'Dixie' and 'The Battlehymn Of The Republic' at the same time, sir."

I don't think anyone was saying that hitting wasn't a problem at times last year. But some people act like we couldn't hit the broad side of a barn last year which isn't true. Pitching was just as big an issue last year.

Yeah, I bumped it after a 19-0 game. It's kind of funny.

Who isn't hyped about this season? Could our team improve? Sure! Can we offer constructive criticism? Sure!

Is it still funny? Yeah.

I'm just glad we took the selection committee's advice last year & scheduled some a few tough non-conference road games

Seriously, what does this non-conference slate of juggernauts we got coming in prove? The season starts Friday March 16th, IMO
