YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!!
I'm going to the grocery store in a few minutes to buy my "smuggle in" food for this weekend. Peanuts, both boiled and salted, jerky, sunflower seeds and Slim Jims!

Anthony Ranaudo told me about a week ago that the three starting pitchers have looked freaking awesome so far, says he still trains with the team some.... how much have you seen them pitch?

I've been to only two practices. One was not a scrimmage but was infield, pitchers fielding "come backers" and throwing to second base, batting practice, outfield throws to second and to the plate....that sort of thing. So no pitching.
The other practice I attended was this past Sunday during a scrimmage. McCune was pitching for what looked liked the starting team (Katz on first, Yocum on second, Nola at SS, Hanover at third, Rhymes in RF, Jones in CF and Slaid in LF) and he was almost unhitable. He gave up one single in the four innings I saw him pitch and that was it. He didn't walk anybody (they had what looked like a "regular" umpire behind the plate) in those four innings. He was pounding the strike zone getting ahead of almost every batter.

I'm really excited about this year.

I've been to four practice games and I think the pitching staff, as a whole, will be improved over last year. The batters have had singles and doubles only, without being able to group hits for a big inning. The defense looks very solid.

I'm REALLY hoping this is due to our awesome pitching and not our woeful hitting.
