They've been playing in a baseball stadium. The move to silicone valley puts them within an hour of 2 large cities (San Jose is actually bigger than San Fran).

I think the niner hate is from their fans on here saying saints fan say Homer type things (which I'm definitely not gonna argue with) when the niners fans are just as bad or worse.

Firstly, F the Niners, still hate you guys from the Montana, Dome Patrol days.
That said... This is good news for the team and football fans in the area. Every time they showed an overhead shot of that stadium, I wondered why they were still playing there. The configuration just looked horrible.
I understand Candlestick has history, but, that doesn't make up for bad sight lines and out of date facilities.
Congrats to the Niners and their fans!
But, I still hate you.
