What kind of qualifications do you need to become an NFL commissioner?

The guy makes CEO type money, but doesn't have to make nearly the kind of difficult and tough decisions that the CEO of a company has to make. Doesn't even need to be business savvy or smart. The hardest he has to think is when he has to decide whether he should suspend a player for 2 games or 4 games for smoking weed or assaulting strippers or whatever other stupid shite NFL players do.

Seriously how hard is the job? Has to be the easiest 'C' level executive job in America.

Really? You don't think he has to have some say on the billion dollar tv deals the league signs? Or the apparel deals? Or the lockout?

Sometimes threads die a premature death on the MSB. Thought I'd get more responses here. Admins can move it if they think it belongs there.

Yeah, most multimillion dollar TV deals negotiate themselves.

Or at most, require the input of a couple $24,000/year high school grads.

Ok, so he negotiates TV deals. But is he even answerable to anyone if he screws up? At least CEOs have to answer to shareholders, Board of Directors etc. Who does he report to?

Oh, so you're aware of Roger Goodell's daily work schedule?

The only time I hear about him is when he is about to issue a fine to some player, which leads me to believe that a major part of his job is just giving out fines.

That's some fine logic there, Rick.

From wikipedia:

Roger Goodell Actions as commissioner

Looks like he did more work as COO under Paul Tagliabue than as commissioner himself. As commissioner most of his highlights are disciplining players and coaches, at least according to his Wikipedia entry.

I haven't heard anything from the Walmart CEO in a while. Dude probably just comes up with the next Great Value knockoff, and sends an email for them to make it.
