Everquest goes F2P

Can't link the details on the tiers from work, but from what I understand it will follow the EQ2 model. Bronze, Siler, and Gold memberships, reduced bag and toon slots for the lower tiers. Gold gets you full rights and 500 SC per month.
Don't know what the returning players full toon slots will do, they said bags in restricted slots will be mailed to you.

I am going to start a free account to see how it goes until I find out what they do when you already have 8 toons and only get 6 slots.
I currently have three dormant accounts and will love to jump on and kick around without having to subscribe.

More Importantly they are shutting down Everquest Mac edition. It was a hidden gem that everyone ignored and has a fanbase that is second to none in the EQ world. It was stuck in Velious and the community cared about everyone and it was the last connection to the EQ that we knew and loved from back in the day.

If you have an active subscription withba toon created before a certain date in Feb then itvis in I think, other than that itvwill show all slots but the remanidervover 6 will be headed out.

I'm surprised they could maintain pay to play this long. I just don't have the time to grind out exp like the old days

Will play again.
Will also use macroquest to box my toons.
I don't use it for the cheats, just to box. . .since it is so hard to find a group on there.

So the Sleeper will never be woken on there. :(
I miss the days of a full Blackburrow, Fansy, and in the community your rep was your game. No Chuck Norris Jokes, friendly sharing of camps, train right servers, and most of all the friends you made. You could finds some friends and camp a spot for 6 hours an love every minute of it. I pulled one night for a random group outside of KC for 8 hours and it was fun!!!

That is up for debate. I think that if Hobart can't save the server it will be awakened by all of the major guilds in a major community event.
Hobart is the only programmer who has been able to work on that code and Smed doesn't want him doing it anymore so they are shutting it down. It is a real shame.

Was having a blast using a voice chat program with everyone. I was the healer. we were all drinking. I got wasted and passed out.
Apparently it happened on a huge pull. All died. I got blackballed for about a week.
