Anyone ever used Vicious fluorocarbon?

I got a 550yd spool of 15lb test for a good price. The line looks pretty good (Not milky) and has a good finish.
I have been using Trilene 100% fluoro, but if this stuff is similar I will gladly switch over due to the money saved.
Just wondering is this stuff worth a damn before I spool up?

dude you must fish for bass. why wouldn't you use braid withe the flourocarbon as a leader

Yea, you can't use braid for everything for bass. I probably need to try fluoro for a couple applications for bass instead of this shitty p-line mono

I do somewhat with spinning reels. I'm not a fan of braid on baitcasters..too many problems with the line digging in the spool.
I also hate the way braid sounds like its sawing into my rod guides.

I love flouro for fishing soft plastics

I started using it last year and had some line breakage problems I never had before. And of course it was only with spinnerbaits and cranks, never a cheap soft plastic
I'm talking about the p-line mono here, not fluoro

I have never had any issues with P-line
I use fluoro mainly for its sinkabilty and sensitivity

I have never tried it but I have heard good things about it.
I think I read somewhere it is made by Seagar?

I'm thinking about spooling fluoro on my finesse rig (throw wacky and weightless soft plastics/flukes on it) but I also use it for shallow cranks and things like rogues. Would fluoro be good for that? What lb test? 12-15?

I always use 10# Fluoro for my cranks, and other baits with trebles.
My wacky rig/ weightless plastics setup is a spinning reel with Berkely Nanofill 10#
I use the 15# fluoro for football jigs and other soft plastics.
8# fluoro on a spinning reel for shakey head finesse

I have that chart saved on my desktop, buy I feel like its too specific I don't have enough different rigs for that.

How do you like the NanoFil?

The only thing with trebles for me is I kinda rely on the stretch of the mono to not rip the bait out on hookset. I might spool it with 12 lb fluoro and just try it out

I like it pretty good.
Took some getting used to when shooting under docks (bait would go too far).
I don't use a leader just a brown sharpie to make the bright white(not clear like Berkely says) line.
I have used it for 3 trips now, so far no noticeable wear(fraying) on the line.

What brand of braid do you use for your frog setup?
Posted on 1/28/12 at 10:50 pm to dawgfan1979
as you can tell I only fish for trout and reds.
