Does anybody here still think LSU was better than Bama last year?

If we take off the p+g glasses, its pretty hard to dispute that Bama was the better team. Better overall defense (although ours was phenomenal all year), much better QB.

if our playcalling and execution on offense is worth a frick, its a tossup IMO.

Apparently that is too much to ask of LSU fans though.

If we cant pass the ball, we never had a chance. They werent prepared for our option plays (only thing that worked Nov 5) the first game. In the BCS game, they realized Les was sticking with JJ and that if they shut down the option and run plays in general, they had us. Les proved in the games leading up to the BCS that he was leaving JJ in come hell or high water. They knew it, schemed for it, and made it look easy.

1-1. I guess we weren't better but I wouldn't say they were better than us either. We dropped the ball bigtime on Jan 9th, but if we played them again I bet we would win.

Put it this way.
I was surprised we won in nov and not surprised at all we lost in January.

Les did exactly what Saban wanted him to do. You cannot beat that defense with only a run game. That's the reason Bama took UF to the woodshed in the SEC ship in 2009. UF had no WRs and the run games is all they had.

You cant get good QB play vs bama, you cant win. LSU got just enough out of JJ running the option on the 5th because they didnt prepare for it. That was not happening again. Oh well.

Yes. LSU's record proved they were. They were 1-1 against BAMA, with the win coming in Tuscaloosa with EVERYTHING on the line, with a loss at a neutral to slightly friendly sight.

Don't let one game where one team failed to show up and the other played well skew the entire season.

We didn't have more talent than Bama. All you have to do is look at the draft this year to understand that. They had more experienced players while the bulk of ours were underclassmen. Of course we aren't better coached. Saban has his reputation for a reason. Miles is a great coach but he had to play Saban in a rematch with a younger equally talented team. Edge Bama.

Well if you only go by final score then the season total is:

Bama 27
LSU 9

I think we caught them off guard in Nov by inserting JJ. I think we could have had similar success by doing the opposite Jan 9. They also figured out our defense pretty well, we made their rookie QB look like an AA. If nothing else, we were certainly outcoached in BCS.
