The Browning will cost $1400 for just the rifle.

I think I'll be happy with the standard issue action for U.S. military Snipers

The only thing that is standard is the action. Like I said in many threads ago, it's like saying that NASCAR cars are everyday Fords, Chevys, and Toyotas. 700s are great for a starting point.

Is the set up worth it for the money?

Im still amazed that the Nightforce is cheaper than the Swaro's yet outperforms the in every way, according to the interwebz, since ive never experienced a Nightforce in person.

Never been overly impressed with Brownings for the price. To each his own though.

Before I had my last gun built I talked to my gunsmith about a custom action vrs a model 700. He said he could work a 700 action which would be more accurate than I could shoot.
So I found a Bdl 700mag action and Williams steel bottom metal for $675. He was right.

I've got a belgium made sweet 16, love it. They make incredible shotguns. I've just never wanted to spend the money one one of their rifles.

Beautiful setup. You like running factory Remington triggers don't you? If I am thinking of someone else, what trigger you got?
