clues about next year's offense

Don't know if anyone else has posted about this (I haven't been on in a couple of days), but I just read an interview with Avery Johnson on ESPN Insider, and it contains some hints about what might be in store for next year. Here's an excerpt:
"I had Coach (Frank) Wilson and I had Coach (Steve) Kragthorpe come over, and I talked to Coach Miles right after (the BCS Championship Game), and things are going to change. They have a quarterback in Zach that has a stronger arm and a better football IQ, better than Lee and Jefferson did. And they trust Zach more passing the ball. He’s a smarter quarterback, and he’s got a bigger arm than both of those guys. They’re going to change the offense."
No big surprises there, but it does give some insight into the mindset of the coaching staff. He also mentioned that Kragthorpe told him he was going to be more involved in the play calling. If so, I suspect that means that Kragthorpe is feeling better than he thought he would after receiving the news of his illness last August, and that he's therefore comfortable taking back some of the responsibilities of a coordinator. I hope that's the case, if for no other reason because it might indicate that his health is relatively good...which would be great news for him and his family.

my response every time I hear stuff like this is:
THEN WHY THE HELL WASN'T HE ON THE FIELD THIS YEAR!?!?!?

I can't wait to see how the Lee Lovers handle the Mett praise.

Miles had a want for Jefferson to start.
He said it was more fair.

I agree. If Mett is as good as advertised Miles should have had him ready to play. That's really the only gripe i have this season other than playcalling in the NC

Impossible...JLee is going in the first round and if he would have gotten in the game we would have beat the gumps by eleventy billion.
Obviously Avery doesnt read TD or he would know that

Come on, bruh.
You don't just throw him to the wolves.
Look how that turned out for Lee...

s is:
I suspect the coaches would say that regardless of his physical gifts and football IQ, he probably didn't know the offense well enough and wasn't ready for SEC defenses. Whether that's true or not is another issue.

or the scrub games

I can see that side of it, but I just think if Mett was as good as everyone is trying to tell themselves he is....then he should've played more last year.
But hey, this is the same coaching staff that didn't have Patrick Peterson on punt returns until his last year, so.....

I agree.
But, the only thing I can imagine is that he didn't want him to get hurt. people would be pissing and moaning if he had blown a knee out against WCU, and we were left with Rivers going into next season.

I have a suspicion that a lot of "Lee Lovers" weren't exactly huge fans of Lee. They were more or less "Anti-Jefferson". Just call it a hunch.

DUDE!!!
We had Chad Jones before him!
It's not like he sucked!

Finally someone with a sensible answer. I can tell you what Miles loves, winning.
