I rented this one and gave it a view last night.
I have to say, I liked it quite a bit.
It's a movie that's obviously shot on a budget, there's no CGI in it. It's gritty and nasty.
Plenty of violence and blood.
A couple of the characters are a bit cartoony, but that's my only complaint.
The story packs a really good climax, where an ethical choice has to be made. It's a doozy.
And I like that it ends in a way that's not all sunshine, rainbows and unicorns.
It's the fricking plague. It's 14th century Europe. Everybody hate everybody. Good times!
Oh, and Carice Van Houten is in it... which surprised me. After watching her in this, I am convinced that she is going to ROCK as Melisandre in Game of Thrones.

I saw this on Netflix a couple of nights ago and I really liked it too. That village that they all went into to find the Necromancer(witch) was pretty creepy. Also, at the end did he basically take a life of revenge by killing all witches?

Yeah, things got really creepy in the village. That's what really made the movie for me. There was a hint of authenticity there, like you could really understand what it was like for those people to be in such a strange place.
<spoiler>
At the end, there's a qualifier in the narration that says he "heard" that's how it turned out for Osmund. So it may not actually be true. However, I'm taking the ending the way it was presented.
The persecutors "won" in this one. Holy shite. When does that ever happen?
