I have been really looking high and low for a good family dog. I want a great dog to be my 3 yr old boy's best friend. We have been trying to do the adoption route and some of those people are crazy.

I had found a great dog in Illinois but by the time it would have been said and done I would have paid $2500.00 for it by the time you buy plane tickets hotel and rental car back home. Heck for that I could buy a whole bloodline.

Anyway, the perfect dog would be male, 65lbs max, never hunted and tolerated cats..2 yrs old or younger, could be a mix as long as it was predominately Cur.

I will drive for a good dog... I'm in Fl but will go to Ga. Ala, La and east Texas.

Thanks for reading.

Just remember a full blooded cur might play a lil rough for a 3 year old. Most bloodlines of bmc are pure working lines and may not make a very good pet. Make sure you look into what you are getting. You don't want to buy your 3 year old a full blown pig dog for a pet.

I had a ladner bmc a few years ago. He was a very good dog, but not exactly what I would call a kids dog. He was rough as hell. Good tracking dog and a very good squirrel dog though. He was fine around people who know how to act, but I wouldn't let him out around kids because he wouldn't tolerate the tail pulling and crap like that. He had plenty of fight in him.

Point being, be careful.

If you are not set on a bmc, look into a blue lacy. Better choice for a kids dog IMO.

Southern Heritage Kennel
That's where I got mine from. He's 64lb.s of muscle, plays with the neighbors cat, chases strange cats. He can get a little rough with my teenagers, tolerates my wife's mini schnauzer.

I love mine.

<------

Very smart, very eager to do right.

Like HeadSlash's, 65 pounds of muscle. Likes our cat, chases off strange cats, birds, squirrels, mice, etc. Our backyard is no-man's land for animals.

Talked to about 6 different breeders and I ended up going with Southern Heritage. Glen seems to be a hell of good guy. He's got a litter with 3 males and 4 females. I have 2nd pick. Pups are 2 weeks old.

Thanks Headslash
