Note the part that says CABLE. Probably can't compare the last two BCSNCGs with any of the others based on TV ratings given that they used to be broadcast and are now cable.

Wait a damn minute.

Does that mean that Bama is not universally loved and people didn't care to tune to see the midget god of football?

Good to hear. This matchup was a contrived injustice, and those assholes who pushed for it should be punished with low ratings. Heads should roll at espn.

+10000000000 I agree..no one else anywhere in the nation was interested in a rematch of 2 SEC teams other than the South for a National Championship!..Thanx ESPN, and all the other baffoons for wanting that...they ruined the BCS for what it was meant to be...

I predicted this though it wasn't difficult to forecast. SEC haters didn't watch since no chance the SEC's streak was going to end. Fans of other SEC teams didn't watch since the streak was assured of continuing. No top 40 media markets located in the state of either competing team. It was a recipe for a ratings disaster.

That's the one positive about this horrendous game. Few people saw it.

+100,000 maybe why we're already forecast as preseason #1 with a majority of pollsters. Pollsters didn't even watch the game.

But, it has to be in the second week of January for ratings.

But, it has to be on a Monday freaking Night for ratings.

You do realize that comparing the records of a cable/satellite program to the ratings of programs which were available to all televisions is pointless. Open this link and scroll down to the cable ratings. That game was the 2nd highest cable rated program ever. Gotta know a little somethin' about what you're reading folks.

Being the 2nd highest rated cable program is akin to being the 2nd tallest pygmy in the jungle. Sponsors will hesitate to pay for ads in the future BCS title games b/c of this game.
