Saltwater equipment

This winter I started saltwater fishing, and absolutely love it. I have caught a ton of reds and a few specs. My question is what do people do to protect the reals from the saltwater? My equipment isn't very expensive but I want to prolong it's usefulness as long as possible.

I just rinse it all down really good with freshwater when I get home. Don't spray it hard, just lightly to let freshwater flush over it. Then let it dry and lightly oil. Ie also heard good things about spraying reels down with reel magic after rinsing but never tried it myself.

I pressure wash mine. Just keep the tip about 5 feet from the reel.

After a hard weekend of fishing I've started to submerge the reels in a 5 gallon bucket of clean fresh water. I let them sit for a couple of hours.
I'll let you know how it works, still in the experimental stage.

RInse them helps a lot, however rinsing I find only does so much. A good lubricant is key, I use Rem oil.

Rinse them every trip and take them apart and clean them at least once a year. Brackish water isn't THAT harsh on reels... When u get into seawater is when you'll really have issues
