who would you take? I take Keil everytime...and I think most would agree. He can have a much greater impact on our program. He was the top prospect from another state and he picked LSU. After watching his post-announcement interviews...I definately take Keil every time.

Let's not get down on Miles and staff for missing on one kid. If he can somehow finish with Edwards and/or Howard, everyone will forget about...whatshisfrickingname!

No sour grapes seriously i would take Kiel we have had the #1 safey come to LSU several times. We have never had a QB prospect like this come to LSU in my time. I know Jamarcus was highly rated but I dont think he was 5 star 1 overall QB.

No reason we should not get both

But in terms of need...Kiel is huge

A QB will win a ton of games

A safety? No...LSU has all kinds of athletes they can plug in back there...

In terms of team needs, no contest..

with that said, losing LA #1 player to Rival Alabama hurts big time.

GK all day.

How many 5 star QB have we signed? RP is all that i can think of.

How many 5 star safeties have we inked. Loston (OOS) and Jones come to mind early.

This kid is compared to Luck by many.

Now I would love to have Collins but Kiel is a need. We will be loved by many DB in the next few years.

Look at it this way. If we had Collins (elite S) over the last 2 years. 8-5 and 11-2. Would we have been a better team.

If we had Kiel (elite QB) those same years would we have been a better team?

Kiel. Not a slight against LC, but LA rarely produces good QB's with a good head on their shoulders as well (Manning's aside).

Please stop posting these meaningless threads. We need to focus on recruits who want to play for LSU like the guys we have who are playing in the NC. As LC said last night, he made his choice 2 years ago. He's were he wants to be so let it go.

kiel, and it's not sour grapes. do i need to remind anyone about the qb situation at LSU for the past 4 years? i would love to have collins, but cooper can develop talent. collins is special, but so is kiel and he plays at a position of NEED. congrats bama, good luck lc but give me gunner any day of the week!

too bad this was not even close to a "we can only get 1" situation

Exactly,

TM7 was put back there and did a fine job. This isn't the end of the world.

Gunner, because you can win more often with a great QB than with a great safety.

Funny. This same question was asked a few weeks ago on this board, and it was probably 60-40 LC over GK. Now that it's played out, it's 100-0 GK.

I said in that thread, and I'll repeat it now.

This staff has shown that it can develop underhyped players into great DBs. I don't worry about that position.

LSU hasn't had a great QB in decades. I love the chance to have one.

Also, a QB makes a much bigger impact than a S. It's by far the most important position on the field.

So give me GK. Though LC will be a beast.

To the other poster...Shep was a 5* QB that people keep forgetting about. And was recruited under the premise that he would be looked at as QB first.

One of the many reasons that I don;t star gaze.

It's only a "meaningless" thread if you can't get the point. We win some and we lose some. We just won a very big one (last week) and thats my point. I wouldn't trade Keil for anyone committed to BAMA right now. I'm pointing out the positives of us signing the #1 QB in america. I no longer give a $hit about fricksticktrappedinla.

I know Shep was a 5 start but I dont think anyone expected him to ever play QB. I know I didnt.

I did, he broke all of Vince Young's records

but once he said Matt Flynn made him feel he was in middle school (regarding arm stregth) after throwing it around that summer...I knew he wouldn't play QB

I still am suprised Miles hasn't let him throw one or run the wild cat

I think Shep is being Vastly under used...kind of makes me mad when I stop and think about it

Didn't see that post but I don't doubt the 60/40. The 60% are either stupid or somehow thought that by hanging on his nuts it would make him fell more...important. What happenned to the Colts without Manning? What would the Saints look like without Brees? That should provide all the proof anyone needs.

It would be interesting to go back and see which posters in this thread said LC in the other thread. Not interesting enough for me to take the time to look, but interesting just the same.

The sentiment is, land the kids from home

don't let your stars get away.

But we are stoked about kiel, I hope he lives up to the hype

Very excited about watching him tomorrow...hope he lights it up

I agree. Now I'm wondering who could throw a better pass...Shep or Ware.
