Landon Collins wants to be a nickelback

quote:
Collins made up his mind to head to Tuscaloosa two years ago, but was persuaded to wait on making a decision. At that time, mother and son agreed on that destination for Louisiana’s best prospect. That changed when Saban talked about using Collins as a nickelback, instead of an every-play safety.
“A nickelblack plays 50-80 percent,” Justin said. “Landon is a 100-percent player.”
Is this the Tyrann Mathieu effect (getting a chance to make plays all over the field at the nickel)? Pretty impressive that Saban can convince a 5 star safety to come to Bama on the basis that he'll be a situational player.

Is there more to this article?
If Landon is a "100 percent player" why would playin nickel interest him?
Am I missing something?

It's the article from the Advocate about his commitment. That quote about him being a 100 percent player was from his mother. Just another sign of her displeasure of his decision.
