After spending hours breaking down these two teams, the three SEC coaches agree on three things about the BCS title game: Because of the strength of the defenses, the contest will again be low scoring. LSU will have more talent on the field, by a very small margin. And ... Alabama will win. Why? Nick Saban. "It's almost unfair to give Saban so much time to prepare," says one coach, echoing the other two. "Alabama generally outplayed LSU the first time, but the scoreboard didn't say that. I think they'll do it again, but this time the result will be different."

SI agrees: Alabama 13, LSU 10.

can you guess who these 3 might be?

les does better w/ time to prepare.

Signed Mack Brown before their playmaker got hurt. Texas had Bama on the ropes and that game was by no means a given.

Saban is borderline terrible with time to prepare. And that is a proven fact.

What the frick does this mean? Honestly, have these fricking people ever watched college football?

CLM' only bowl loss at LSU came on a sloppy field, could have gone either way game against Penn State in what was one of the two worst years of his tenure here.

Every single other bowl game he has had has been double digit wins over quality opponents.

Saban has lost to Utah. Not sure how much time he would have needed to prepare for ULM.

I know we're supposed to not give a frick what the media says and let the players get pissed, but gfd, how much of this bullshite do they expect us to buy? Have they seen what we have done to top ten teams this year? We beat the Pac-12 Champion winner of the Rose Bowl by two scores. We beat #3 Arkansas by 20+. We beat the Big East Champion by 2+ scores.

Bama let up 300 yards to a D-2 school, not to mention could't beat a team IN THEIR HOUSE that failed to score a touchdown agains them.

Everyne sucks-but us.

He's especially good when the other team's All-American starting QB is forced out due to a freak injury, and a true freshman replaces him.

coaches, by and large, aren't the smartest tools in the shed. Which is why the really bright ones are so dominant. I wouldn't go looking for insightful commentary from the profession.

People are inherently lazy and do not do things on their own. Analysts, commentators, and in this case, coaches, mostly regurgitate what somebody else says whether true or not. Sounds good, let's go with it.

All LSU fans know this but it is incredible that all the talking heads don't do their research on his history. Also it is no surprise they pick the game based strictly because of Saban. The dude has some mesmorizing effects on some people. He ought to become the next Jim Jones and have everyone drink the koolaid.

The fact that they give lsu a slight edge in talent is very telling.

But, the main idea here is lsu has better coaches.

sabin is a terrible big game coach. Should have beaten Oklahoma by three touchdowns in 03, but ended with a much smaller margin in a game that was not under control until the very end. Almost lost nc game to texas when texas had one hand tied behind its back. Lost to Iowa. Lost to the mighty Utes. Lost to the great Gerry Dinardo in the 1995 Independence Bowl. Need i say more?

sports pundits are idiots...they easily forget history, or perhaps never learn it in the first place
