Re-watched the 11/5 game on LSU Classics last night. Here’s what I noticed that obviously worked for us that must continue and my wish list for the Championship:
Defense:
1. Stop TR and Lacy runs. They were basically a non-factor. The Dline played lights out most of the game and this is crucial.
2. Pressure on AJ. He didn’t get hit often, but was pressured and made mistakes because of this.
3. Limit Bama big plays. Can’t say enough about how Chavis has this team prepared and poised. Keep it up.
4. DBs and Safeties continue to play lights out.
5. Takeaways – We had two crucial ones. That evened out the game and the two we gave them.
Offense:
1. JJ must play. He is fearless and better at protecting the ball. This is crucial.
2. Speed kllls – whether it is the option or misdirection plays. This is needed for our offense to gain ground. I believe M. Ford and/or A. Blue should play an integral role.
3. Limit mistakes. We had some but not many. Offensive line can do better but overall did a good job of protecting the QB against the Bama rush (their biggest strength).
Special Teams:
1. This and the defense is why we won the game! Keep it up!
Wish list for the game:
1. At least two takeaways by LSU and one or more for a score.
2. One of those long passes to a wide open RR. I know we can do it if we allow our QB, whether it is JJ or JL, just 4 seconds to get set and pass
3. Hilliard Dive into the endzone for a score. It’s a thing of beauty.
4. Stop the underneath passes to TR. We blew coverages on this multiple times during the last game. This must be stopped.
5. Hit AJ. Pressure, Sack, whatever it takes to shake him up!

Special Teams and Takeaways determine this game again.
