I thought when we agreed to move this year to a primetime game that Alleva got CBS to guarantee us a primetime slot in 2012 for our home game?

Has this fallen through, or is it just an overnight on LSUSports.com's website?

Most are 7 PM or TBA until the official TV announcement is made. It will be a night game.

It could be played at 7 AM. Both teams are going to be crunk and ready to knock some heads.

they waited until two weeks before the Bama-UF game to confirm that it indeed was at 7 PM on CBS even though we had known that for months. it'll be the same thing for the Bama game next season.

But Alleva sent out a letter stating they had reached an agreement with CBS stating since we agreed to move it this year, CBS would guarantee us a night slot for it next year.

Did that now fall through?

Alabama and LSU didn't agree to anything and had/have no say in the matter. SEC schools play at whatever time the networks (CBS and ESPN) want. It's not like CBS asked permission.

Typical Gump. CBS is guaranteed 1 primetime game per year by the contract. It was fulfilled with the UF/Bama game played earlier in the year.

The Bama/LSU game was a special concession by both schools and ESPN to allow it to be moved against the prescribed contract agreement. Learn what the hell you are talking about before spouting off nonsense.

Okay, you aren't listening to anyone... YES, Alabama @ LSU on Nov. 3, 2012 will be at night. However, they don't usually make things like that official on the schedule until the TV schedules are finalized which won't happen until the off-season.

LSU @ Arkansas will also be at 1:30/2:30 (depending on if it's Friday or Saturday this year) but it's also TBA.

ETA: In fact most TV schedules aren't finalized until two weeks prior to kickoff, except in special circumstances (ie. LSU vs. Arkansas)

No shite shurlock.....this would be categorized as a special circumstance. If it's locked in to a night game as Alleva said it was, then there would be no need for an "announcement" two weeks prior to the game as they usually do.

No, CBS and ESPN worked something out. The schools didn't work it out.

No. Schools and the SEC also had to agree to it genius. It is something outside of their agreed upon contract, thus all parties must be in agreement, not just the two networks.

What I'm getting around to is that LSU has signed some bullshite soft arse contracts in the past whether it be for coaches, events or whatever. We used to always get bent over the barrel with schools squeeking out of contracts (ie VA Tech).

For Alleva to come out and say they agreed to the primetime game in T-town due to the fact they got promised a night game in 2012 for the same game only to have it now backfire is yet another slap in the face for whoever our contract attorneys.

Okay, look at the Arky game, it's also TBA... That is also a special situation. TV stuff is not finalized for 2012.
