I think TM7 was a 3 star when he was recruited and then bumped to a 4 star when he committed to LSU.

Miles and Saban seem to have differing philosophies. Saban goes after the highest rated players and does not place the sufficient emphasis on his needs. Miles evaluates what the team needs and recruits the best talent available to fill those needs. He then coaches them up as necessary. Remember when Saban left LSU the offensive line had almost no depth due to the poor recruiting efforts at those positions. Contrast that with now. LSU rotates lineman on both sides of the ball throughout the game. The same can be said for the other positions. Our 2 deep depth chart is incredible and much better by far then Bama. That is Mile's true genius.

So do you sit online all day long, and have an alarm that goes off if anybody says anything less than complimentary about Alabama and/or Nick Saban? It really is tiring to have you pop up in every single thread as a defender of all things Bama.

Go back to the SEC Rant, gump. Your circle jerk is missing its middle target right now.

Why are you guys still losing games if Saban is constantly pulling in better players than everyone in college football? And, where's all of the depth you guys should have? Oh, and, recruiting kickers brings down the average "star" rating....just sayin'.

but you hear analyst after analyst saying that LSU's strength is its depth... how do you get that depth? deep recruiting classes.

Our average recruiting level in the last 5 years is behind Bama's and Saban doesn't have the luxury of depth that LSU has.

What does that tell me? Miles is the best talent evaluator in the business. If he's recruiting you, you're a good one... frick what the recruiting websites think.

LSU does have depth but its not deeper than Bama's. I don't know where you get that notion. There are positions that you're deeper like DL. But we run a 3-4 looking for monsters where you run a 4-3 and the more typical size. You need more of those guys. I don't know where else you're deeper except maybe safety. 2 going NFL and frosh after that. But we're way deeper at LB.

And for "Born in BR" posting that CLM recruits more OL's. I went back and looked. In 2008-2011, LSU has taken 16 OL's and Bama has taken 17 OL's. Bama star rating slightly better (Bama 6 4*, 3 5*, LSU 8 4*, 1 5*). I knew "Born in BR" was FOS. That just shoots your entire cred. Saban recruits his needs as well or better. To knock on his recruiting is crazy.

Read Brees' book and you can get a good idea of the way CNS goes about recruiting talent. hes the scientific coach who probes and prods and seemingly ignores intangibles.

im sure CLM looks at the stats closely but seems to go with a gut feelings, similar to Sean Peyton and his recruitment of Drew Brees. I think this is why we have so much depth at nearly every position.

I suppose you are referring to HB7 as a 2 star. He was a 4* on Rivals. If I recall Saban did have a #1 recruiting class at LSU. Miles hasn't done that yet so I don't think you can call Saban's efforts there nothing. And Bama has been #1 recruiting 3 of last 4 years. Just about every school except LSU has to compete with another major program in their own state. I wouldn't call Les a recruiting genius.

ok. We'll settle for being deeper in the DL.

And at DB.
And at RB.
And at QB.
And at WR.

Personally, I prefer that our guys have a bigger heart and don't quit in OT.

Bama last 4 yrs. 12-2, 14-0, 10-3, 11-1, and 2 BCSNC appearances. So, WTF are you talking about? I don't know anyone else that has that good a record.

Where do you get the illusion that LSU is deeper than Bama? That's nuts.
K/P ok, everyone has a weak spot. LSU's is QB.

mostly from the fact that it's true. We have at least 5 dbs that would be drafted this year if they were eligible. We have 4 rb's that are better than Eddie Lacy. We have 3 wrs as good or better than Maze.

CNS puts too much emphasis on group think about the players he wants, he often lobbies the media about thier play, CLS just states how he enjoys how a player is playing.

Both can judge athletes very well. Only CLS has fun doing it.

QB? Really dude? I guess if you consider 2 shitty QB's are better than 1 good one.

RB? We have 3 very good/great RB's and run a 1 RB system. How many more do you need?

DB - Safety depth maybe. Not at CB depth.
WR- You have top line with RR/RS but we have a stable of 4* WR's on the bench.

Well, if we're going to have a pissing contest over who is the best recruiter, why in the world would we not include recruting for special teams???????? Never forget: 5:51

You just lost all cred for the second time. You obviously know nothing about our younger classmen.
Have you seen the QB's to come?

And we run multiple backs becauses we can. You dont bc you cant
