Is there any worse feeling as a hunter to not find a deer you surely hit? Shot a nice sized doe this morning and found blood everywhere. Followed the blood trail and it just disappeared. Searched for it all morning and nothing. Would have been my first of the season. I know it's just the way things go but it still sucks

I agree, it is a horrible feeling. Luckily I've only lost one doe I shot and found blood on.

I'm putting a ring on it within the month.

Looked for a doe my cousin shot one night. Blood everywhere. Huge chunks of liver. Really an amazing amount of blood. Last thing we found was a hand size chunk of liver and not another drop of blood.

I agree, its a terrible feeling. Even worse when its a nice buck. I've been pushing for a rule change at one place I hunt. A bloodied deer should count as a kill in each persons total they can shoot.
