This thread will be brought up in the future when we battling for 4th seed. ( I wanna say better but Ahh well..)

This team is very Athletic, Defensive, we got Kaman and Gordon scoring plus 20 every game. Ariza best defender in the league, Oak will play some bad arse defense this year. Q-Pon and/or Aminu will be the Odom of the Lakers. ( LAKERS WILL MISS ODOM!!) #6thMan

We aren't keeping both of these guys the whole year. Gordon will go from $3 million to $10 - $12 million next year meaning we'd be a tax team if one or two of our big contracts don't get traded away. I do agree that the team will be much better than expected until Demps has to start blowing it up. It would take guys like Smith and Ayon really surprising for this team to be a playoff team when it's all said and done.

Ive seen you make quotes about trading a bunch of different people the last few days, where are you getting this from?

Kaman and Landry are both free agents next year, thats 21 million getting cleared. I dont see us unloading them unless we have a terrible record.

But if we decide to keep him he won't be getting a paycut. That means you either trade him for value or let him walk for nothing. He and/or Okafor will get traded this season.

I don't know just where we'll end up in the standings at the end of the season, but I said a few days go that this team would be better than a lot of people on this board thought it would be. While far from a title contender at this point, there is some talent on the floor.

kaman's deal expires, so he's gone next year regardless. if we trade him this year, we WILL assume that salaary

and we'll shed landry's $9M after this year and be relatively far from the tax threshold

No inside info, I just don't see how it goes down any other way.

The team needs to surround Gordon with talent and become a contender or we'll repeat this CP3 mess in another 5 years. I'm not saying Monty tanks but it'd be foolish for Demps to choose present value over future value. If the choice is turning Kaman and Landry into players that will help Gordon get to playoffs over the next 3-5 years vs. losing them for nothing after they help us get the #8 seed and a 1st round exit, you have to choose future playoffs over present playoff IMO.

If Kaman plays like he did last night all year I can see us using Amnesty on Okafor later in the year. When is it that we can use it again? March?

I wouldn't be against signing Kaman to an extension either if he'll take reasonable pay.

If the trade is with a non tax team the new rules would let us take as little as $8 million in salary back for Kaman and $6 for Landry.

I actually like the team we have now, if we get lucky and Minny stinks again and get a top 3 pick that could be your stud to pair with Gordon. Also surround them with the veterans we have now and believe that can be a formidable team. We would also have our pick and that could be anywhere from 1-15. That could be another impact player or at least quality bench player.

I do too, it's pretty versatile and balanced and the holes can be plugged next season in the draft and with the MLE. But to keep this team together next year would mean being a tax team. Is the new owner willing to go there yet?

i agree...he'd have to cut his salary to the 7-8M range though. too big of an injury risk to spend more
