I just don`t get it but for Alabama to finish in third place in the SEC and then get a shot a the National Championship?????????

The BCS screwed USC. At least they get to go to the Rose Bowl and play Lloyd Carr's Michigan Wolverines.

Can't use record because Bama got to sit home and not play LSU again due to getting beat in their own house and own division.
Definitely not fair, but the whole notion that they are the second best team in the country is a media created notion, and it's because we all got to see who closely they stacked up against the #1 Tigers.
We did NOT get the luxury of seeing how Ok. St. stacked up against LSU so we'll never really know.
The whole thing is very subjective, because the facts such as Bama's weaker schedule have skewed people's opinions.

Win or lose Jan 9, I bet Bama goes ahead and claims the NC anyway.

I take that back, Alabama finished 5-2 in the SEC in 1941, good for FOURTH place behind State (4-0-1), Tennessee (3-1) and UGA (3-1-1).

It's simply a messed up system. However, LSU could be in the same boat as Alabama and everything would be all right.....
