Somewhat and yes. I'll use scent free detergent and soap/shampoo, but I worry more about it during bow season than regular gun season. I also think that no matter how much scent proofing you use if a deer gets close enough downwind of you it's gonna smell you.

I don't see how someone couldn't "believe in" estrus urine though

Put it this way. I took a shower last night and used old spice body wash, smelly shampoo. I sprayed down with scent blocker this am. Sat under my tree from 5-5:30 before climbing up. 5 deer walked out under my tree at 7 right were i sat down. Never smelt a thing. And I was upwind from where they came.

I shot two of my biggest deer because of grunt calls.

Btw most Of the time the scent isn't what spooks them. Deer are naturally curious animals. The scent just puts them on alert, which makes it easier for them to see you move. Movement is what makes them turn and run

Eta: this goes for slick heads, spikes and the likes not big ole pawpaws

Buck. I grunted a few times during the rut and I had two mature bucks step out a cutover to check it out.

I tested my theory on grunts this morning and they passed. Had 3 in the lane. I knew I wasn't going to shoot so I started grunting and wheezing. The spike went nuts. Started running up and down the lane looking for me. Translate that to a buck I the woods he should come running
