In regards to Saban landing Devall

I'm not worried in the slightest.
People freaked out about us losing Trevon Reed:
Miles has us loaded at WR the next few years
People freaked out about us losing Sentimore:
Miles has us loaded at DE
People freaked out about us losing Eddy Lacy:
Miles has us loaded at RB
People freaked out about us losing Robby Green
Nah, just kidding!
But you get the point. I am going to say that I think Miles has a BETTER eye for talent then does Nick Saban. He has continualy gone out and found excellent 2-3 star players in this state that nobody on this board in their right mind would trade for(i.e. Claiborne and HB).
I'm at a point now where if Les has seen the kid and wants him on his team then the kid is good enough. If he wants to give a scholarship to a punter or kicker or frickin ball boy then I'm fine with it! If we lost a good hybrid DE/LB, Miles will find someone who will fit our system.

while you are correct every louisiana player worthy of playing at LSU must be fought over tooth and nails. it is imperitive that we sign the vast majority of the states talent. in times where LSU was not good is when other teams signed lots of local talent; FSU, A&M are two prime examples. a few getting away don't hurt but in honesty i HATE losing any player to Saban.

Devall is going to be the truth. His career will eclipse every player you mentioned in your post.
...but I'd be mad too.

The truth is that after we spank you on 1/9/12 we are gonna own the state the next two years again. You and Devall can watch from your seats at the Cotton Bowl.

I might have been concerned but this is the deepest LB class in Louisiana in a long time and we couldn't get all of them.

This is the LSU specific recruiting board and is one of the few places that there are no flame wars.
You had to behave like an a-hole and make an unnecessary snide remark. so GTFO to the secrant.

Devall's a good player but his loss is off-set by the state having a ton of quality linebacker prospects this year tbh.
Any other year, though..any other year.

Little Nicky finally stole a recruit from LA that Miles was recruiting. Good for him. Let's move on.

He was a better fit at bama and we will be fine. Wish him luck except when he plays us.

How is Bama doing in state? Jamies Winston - FSU, Chris Casher - FSU, TJ Yeldon - Auburn, Justin Shanks - FSU. Bama offered and was recruiting all these kids. If Trae Elston and Kwon Alexander go to Auburn as expected, then Bama will have missed on the top 6 players from Alabama.
LSU is now 15/16 on student athletes we offered a scholly in state, with 2 remaining. That equals 94%. Now, GTFO!

And it wasn't really apples to apples. LSU wanted him at DE from the beginning; Bama wanted him at LB or that's what they told him he would play. It came down to the kid wanted to play LB instead of DE. We have plenty of good LBers in this class; Feist, Louis, Debo, Shiro, and Granier. And, we should add another like Perkins or Lo Phillips.

We get a couple every year (2006 - Riley and Sheppard, for example), but look how crazy 2009 was:
3 Star recruits (Rivals):
L. Barrow
M. Claiborne
T. Jones
B. Logan
J. Williford
Current starters/significant contributers 3 Stars (Rivals) in other classes:
A. Hurst
P. Lonergan
L. Edwards
K. Adams
A. Blue
Another thing to consider is the guys who changed position in college: Copeland as FB, D. Peterson as TE, T-Bob as Guard, Hilliard as FB - just off of the top of my head.
I think this team is as deep with 1-string and NFL talent as any I have seen in my lifetime - Rivaling the late 70s USC and early 90s Miami Hurricane teams in the amount of grade A talent (not recruiting services B$, mind you, but "on the field").

Mr Devall, meet Mr Hilliard.
With enthusiasm.
