Tony and Mike had the Stanford coach as a guest on today's show and they pulled up a quote from Ricky-Jean Francois-sp where he said Luck's draft stock would fall if he played in the SEC.

I kind of chuckled because of all former SEC greats they could get a quote from, it was RJF. I was sitting there watching Stanford's coach defend his possible Heisman QB by a quote from a guy who couldn't make it through LSU. I felt a little embarassed for the guy.

To RJF's point, I do understand if Stanford played in the SEC, of course his stats would decrease, but if he played for UGA, LSU, USCe, and Bama (all SEC schools) he would still put up really good stats and still get drafted very high.

What do you guys think?

I think RJF has a point but I dont think its true. Now if Stanford had to play in the sec with Luck as its qb, the team would not be that good and Luck wouldnt look as good as he does playing against pac-12 teams. However, if you put Luck on Florida's team, that team is immeasurably better and hes still the first pick of the draft.

It comes down to how good you think Luck is. I think hes very good would at least be as successful as Jay Cutler was at Vanderbilt and at best be as good as Eli Manning was at Ole Miss.

They would probably increase. Stanford gets away with a power run game in the PAC 12 and they'd probably turn to Luck far more if LSU/Bama are eating up the run game.

That said (in general terms based off of past years) there are a lot of teams Stanford could run on in the SEC...don't kid yourself that it's some power this year.

If Luck played for LSU or Bama he would still be the #1 pick and would probably have better numbers than he has now.

Some of that would be a product of having upgraded talent around him. The other part is by being on lsu/bama, he wouldnt have to play them both.

If he played on Ole Miss we wouldnt know who he is.

If andrew luck played for an SEC team I think he would do well, I think its clear hes a good and talented college QB

If the entire team came I think they would do decent because they have some size but they wouldnt accomplish much I dont believe
