yes, that's the silver lining in this whole mess.
LSU can rightfully claim 1/2 the NC once they beat UGA. then they go to NOLA and pick up the second half.

NO... we are not USC... stop that shite right now... we are LSU, we don't have to beg for a 1st place trophy from the AP. It is all or nothing.

We could claim a split NC if (and only if) the AP votes LSU #1. Coaches poll and AP poll are the only two that matter. Coaches are obligated to vote the winner of the BCSNCG. AP is not.
Wouldn't mind seeing it, just for the consternation it would cause.

no, there is no such thing as a split national championship...under the current system if you don't win the crystal football, you are not national champion.....

There was a split in 2003. LSU won the BCSNC and USC won the AP NC. I'd rather have what we have, the NC during the BCS era in the National Championship game.
