One thing I think often goes unnoticed is just how good of a job our wide receivers have done of holding their blocks downfield and giving guys like Ford that extra cushion they need to get to the corner and turn up field.

Surprisingly, its not just our "big" WRs, like RR2 and James Wright, making these blocks; it's guys like RS10 and OBJ33. I think Gonzales deserves a lot of credit for this sort of physical, team-first mentality. Not getting a pass? No problem. Make your block and help the team win.

Eh, I'd say we just don't have as many physical guys as we did in the past like Bowe and lafell

Jarvis Landry is physical as frick though and is a blocking animal

nice of him to do that since WR blocking was pretty much nonexistent last yr.

Naw, they regressed big time under McCarthy (sorta like how our DL did under Lane) but they've improved under Gonzo.

Some of you guys must be blind. The WR's have been blocking hard all year.

Yes Landry as a true freshman is physical and a great blocker. He seems to have a mean streak and loves making plays and just being out their.

gonzo has been here a few years

this is the first year our WRs are doing a good job of blocking downfield under his tenure

This is his 2nd year here. And in his 2nd year here, we're seeing improvement.

You don't block, you don't get the rock. They all know that. Plus these days many players are so evenly matched that they all want each other to do well so the team can do as well as possible. All of the receivers have really excelled in blocking this year, last year they did well too.

Great thread Santa. I'm with Dylan...Landry is an absolute Beast on Special Teams. I can't wait to see him man handle CB's next year.
