He's the assistant head coach at Okie state. From what I've read they have had some top recruits since he's been there, that they have credited him with. At LSU he recruited Darrel Mitchell,Tasmin,Ty Thomas, Big Baby Davis just to mention a few...plus he's from here

I have no knowledge about who the available coaches are but he sounds good on paper. Recruiting is certainly a large part of college basketball.

I was looking at that their roster ..I see where two were from La....one was RS freshman from Glen Oaks ,who chose Okie State over LSU..Butch working it...I took my son too one of the Brady Ball camps years ago. JB was hardly ever there, Butch was running the camp. Butch's sons (twins} along with Derrick Taylor's son where the best at the camp..all should be seniors now...but Butch was a really nice guy

Anthony Randolph (14th overall pick of the 2008 NBA draft and currently with the Minnesota Timberwolves), Glen "Big Baby" Davis (Boston Celtics), Marcus Thornton (Sacramento Kings), Chris Johnson (Portland Trailblazers), Brandon Bass (Orlando Magic) and Garrett Temple (Charlotte Bobcats). Others former Pierre players who made it in the NBA include: Stromile Swift, the second overall lottery pick in 2000, Ronald Dupree and Jabari Smith

did collis recruit ALL of them..maybe Collis and Butch are freinds and he can help Butch get some more top players in here

and no Trent Johnson was an awful hire

Agreed....if it comes to that, and my preference would be that it does not, but I'm a realist...Butch and Johnny might be the names you here early but I just think we can do better.

And I don't think we need a Dale clone or a circus clown with baggage like Pearl. But I'd like to see a young and energetic coach who does have some P.R. acumen and has at least some more regional ties than did Trent.

Can Aleva deliver that? That's the question. He couldn't even get the guy who went to Bama to show any interest from my understanding.

Recruiting is the lifeblood of college sports, especially basketball when you have an average at best x and o's guy.

TJ has never recruited well. Sorry but after 2 years in the bottom of the SEC, he should never have gotten an extension. The excuses have gotten really old .........

I am completely against anything that resembles the "old guard" at LSU.

That includes Butch Pierre and Johnny Jones and anybody else that might be buddies with Collis Temple.
