Honestly, I am surprised it was that close. They way the season ended for Braun, I thought he had it wrapped up.

to me this should disqualify both of them. MVP = most valuable player.. if you have two of them they aren't that individually valuable imo.

MVP should be defined by how much worse would that team be if you take away that player.

Take away verlander, see how many less wins they get.

Replace Braun's bat with Gamel's and we can say the same thing.

Braun is the first Jew to win the MVP since...

I believe RC wasn't a Jew at the time of his MVP

I've always defined MVP as the best player. That's how I always viewed it growing up and still do.

That said, I would've gone with Kemp but have no problem with Braun.

So only the brewer pair should cancel each other. Right, makes sense.

Tell me how you quantify this.

I'll hang up and listen.

Saw this guy play 3B in Huntsville for the Stars. Knew he would be something special... Proud of him, well deserved and he was big time on my fantasy team.

unfortunately, that is true. Braun is a nice choice. but Kemp is obviously the most deserving, IMO.

I think Kemp had one of the best seasons of any player in recent memory

Top 3 in NL in BA
Top 3 in NL in HR
Top 3 in NL in RBI
Gold Glove CF
Steals A Lot of Bases
Triple Crown Threat with a Week Left in Season

well based purely on the numbers Kemp had a better season than Braun. I'm trying to find a category that could have pushed Braun over the edge. Kemp had 70 more Ks but also went to the plate 40 more times.

Braun beat him out in SLG and BA, but not by huge margins. And of course, there's the whole being a piece of shite offensive team like the Dodgers. Just can't wrap my head around why the voters went that direction.
