If Oklahoma with a loss to Texas Tech beats Baylor and then Beats Okie State would their still be this outcry for a LSU Bama rematch or would a 1 loss big 12 champ Oklahoma be a lock for the BCS championship game?

I think Oklahoma St still has a pretty good chance if they beat Oklahoma. I just feel that at the end of next Saturday, voters are going to sit back and see a 1 loss conference champion getting left out in favor of another 1 loss team that didn't win its division and already lost to the team it will be matched up against. So, I think there's a good possibility they move OSU to #2 and Bama to #3, and the computers will favor OSU as well.

I don't agree that OSU is the 2nd best team, but that's my prediction for what happens next Saturday assuming no other upsets.

I guess the bammers better pull for Chokelahoma, Virginia, and Notre Dame. If the voters can leave us out, they might. Also we want a LSU victory or for Arkansas to curbstomp the tigers, as we cannot afford to wind up below LSU in the BCS.

there is a lengthy discussion on this but even if bama beats auburn... Bama is not a lock over Ok State if State beats OU

For starters because Ok State will be teh #2 in the computer polls behind LSU and they will have moved up a bit in the human opinion polls

esp if:
1) LSU beats Arky (OkS moves up in the Harris/Coaches)
2) Va Tech loses to either Virginia or Clemson (seems very likely)
3) Stanford losing to ND may not be necessary but would be gravy for Ok State

Ok State would not have to pick up a lot of votes to pass Bama... and outside of Alabama and SEC country there would probably be a general feeling of that being a good thing

I do think Bama and LSU are the best two teams in the country based on the games played so far. But a rematch is not a given if Bama beats Auburn

I think you get in almost no matter what if OU beats OkS

the whole point of my thread is that if Oklahoma wins the big 12 with 1 loss @ home to tx tech there is alot less talk of the rematch. However if Okie State wins the big 12 with 1 loss on the road @ iowa state in OT then the rematch hype machine gets cranked to full throttle.

regardless i think if okie state wins they are in but ive had an earful of the rematch and why bama deserves to be there.

I firmly believe the Big 12 champion will be playing in the NCG

If Bama goes to the NCG I will lose all faith in the BCS

How would a 2-loss Oklahoma team get into the BCSCG?

The BCS is designed to pit the best two teams in the NATION against each other. This year it seems the best two teams are in the same division in the same conference. Why lose all faith because of that?

If OU wins, that's it, Bama is in.

If OSU wins, it's up in the air. Right now favors bama, but lobbying can sway the votes.

I think it would be a glitch in the system to have LSU play a team they already beat in the NCG.

My opinion isn't just because of LSU. I don't believe any team should EVER have to play a team they beat in the regular season in the NCG. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Is Alabama the second best team in the country? Yes, I believe they are. But their NCG was in early November. And they lost. It's someone elses turn

That's fine I guess, but it was never a goal of the BCS to exclude a rematch. The lone goal has always been to determine the two best teams.

I just think there are so many things wrong with the situation. I don't think the voters or America want to see a rematch. Outside of a few CFB fans, I really think Alabama fans are the only ones who really want to see a rematch.

I'm not an expert on television ratings, but it seems to me that the BCSNCG would be catering to the south if a rematch happened. I don't think that will be positive for ratings.
