Their QB runs the ball... a lot. He has verbally committed to Cornell. That's right. Ivy League.

wing T

QB Richard Carthon is committed to play baseball (OF) at Cornell.

the only real prospect in football this year from Shreveport is Torshiro Davis from Woodlawn, LB. verbal to LSU.

*as far as I know. I don't follow recruiting very much.

That's surprising. I assumed Evangel, Calvary, Fair Park, or Byrd wold produce some good talent. They tend to shell them out year in and year out.

I'm just going by what I've seen on the PelicanPreps top 40 list. I'm sure there are some other legit athletes in the Arklatex. Just haven't heard any Shreveport names associated with LSU or other SEC teams. Which is pretty much the only recruiting I follow.

Not from Shreveport, but John Thomas from Airline is committed to LSU.

The last big names to come out Byrd were when I was there and that was Woodley & Hobley.

yeah Shreveport/Bossier schools produce some decent high school talent, but the overall pool of athletes that come out.. most aren't good enough to play big time D1 football.

Knee injury at beginning of season. Don't know what his status is.

Yeah that's the thing, he missed this year. He's pretty damn good though. Huge target with solid hands. From what I hear, he's kind of soft so he'll need to toughen up to make it at LSU, particularly in the blocking game.
