Our defense can handle Alabama's offence, and our offence exposed their defense's weakness. Also if RR catches JJ's pass in the end zone, the game wouldn't have been as close as it was. I think it would be one of the best NC games I've ever watched. LSU by 10.

ETA: I should have known there was a thread about this already. Just ignore this one.

Why don't we concentrate on getting to the game first.

we will have a rematch next year. They dont deserve another shot. If they get one, then what was all the build up over the 1st game

if we make the ship, i don't care who we play. i would rather play the representative from another conferce because we will have already beaten everyone in the sec.there are attractions to playing bama again but if they win, it opens up more questions than it answers. i would love to see us against okie lite if they beat ou because of their hi power offense and our hi power defense; what a match up.

You might be! But people are interpreting this the wrong way, it's not because LSU fans are scared of Bama. It's because it's an injustice to the system which has always been win your conference and represent in the NCG. In this case it's even worse because LSU who already beat Bama would not only win the West but the SECCG and they are rewarded by playing a team they beat already. How can you possibly find it fair in any way for LSU? It's not about being scared dammit!

NO

Here's my post from the Sporting News thread bouncing around today stating exactly why (and I'd like to preface that by mentioning that no one ever said life was fair, so all youz about a rematch being unfair to LSU, buck the frick up; it's going to happen):

Look, we all know Bama is the second best team in the country, why even bother denying it. Yes, we beat them at their house, but everyone else in the country has lost to at least one worse team than they did. I just want to play the best team, period. That way, there are no arguments, no quibbles, no "What if"s. The only undefeated team left standing. The system worked. On to next year. As every college football fan's true Champion. Kings.

Even should Bama win, they will not be able to claim the same. They'll forever be remembered as tainted goods. They merely tied the season series. See, even if they win, they lose. Think about that. You can be damn sure that they are. Over the course of a month, that's a strength-sapper; hardly a strength-builder.

And know this: Bama has its reservations about having to play these Tigers again. That loss rattled them. If things don't go their way in Nola, you can BET they'll have flashbacks, and just might implode, much like they did in Tuscaloosa. LSU has a swag that the Tide haven't been able to come even close to finding even after 11 games. The Tide have #stats, the Tigers have #SWAG. Exactly how many Tide players required trainers to get them off the field, anyway? We lost count.

Bottom line is this: The Tigers are in the Tide's heads, now. Revenge factor works for exactly the 1st snap of the game, and that's it. Especially in the Superdome.

There will be no Arkansas, nor Georgia upsets. This 2011 Tigers squad is on a Mission. We can only hope Bama is the favorite once again.

If we beat them again, and become the only team in history to beat the mighty Tide twice in one season, this team will not only warrant *discussion* as *possibly* the best team in cfb history, but the recruiting bounce from once Bama prospects is going to pay off for YEARS.

We should welcome the Tide with open arms.

Then, when they get close enough at 19:30 hours 01/09/12 -- smack 'em in the mutherfricking mouth.

Again.

I hate when people say this. WE are not on the team. We can concentrate on whatever we want.

Yes. Hear me out.

If Bama loses, they will bitch that the game was a home game for LSU and that it was unfair.

If Okie St gets in, they will bitch that they are better and claim the ap like USCw did in 04.

They are not going to beat LSU, but just providing the argument as to why they will not be pleased unless they win and that isn't going to happen.

No, I don't think Bama would want to play us again had they won. Why? One word: #SWAG

We should be the bigger fanbase in wanting to play the best team out there last game of the season. I wouldn't expect this for a minute from the Finebaum/Saban-worshipping Gumps. They're weak. Let's not be, shall we?

Bring the Tide the frick on! Why? Cuz we got this.

So right. Why play them again/ We already whipped their arse in their house.

Bring on another worthy opponent we already proved we're better than Bama.
