Since much has been discussed lately about the midfield logo at Tiger Stadium. I'd like to take this moment to clarify its origin.
.
It all started during my freshman year at LSU: Having quickly become a legend with the coeds, I took a sabattical to Thailand, was kidnapped, and wound one evening up in a house of ill repute. Upon waking the next morning I noticed this awesome new tattoo on my arm and asked the seventeen (why seventeen? because that's my lucky number) ladies in bed with me where it came from. They told me it was the ancient Thai symbol of sexual prowess which they had bestowed on me because they had determined that I was, quite obviously, the reincarnated sex god of Thai legend (symblolized by the tiger) who had returned to earth to pleasure them all. Since I couldn't argue with any of these assumptions and I really liked the design I never had it removed; in fact, I have worn it proudly ever since (see below).

After returning to school word of my sexual talents spread rapidly and I became an even bigger hit with the coeds, sometimes entertaining entire sororities in a single weekend. One of my favorite romping areas was the field at Tiger Stadium since it would accomodate the required large crowd - me and my scores of ladies. Sadly, however, I soon graduated and left Baton Rouge to seek my fame and fortune as the world's foremost renaissance man. After I left, several dozen rather misty-eyed sorority members sneaked into the stadium one night and painted a replica of my tattoo on the midfield as an eternal tribute to my memory. The AD at the time (Broadhead I believe) saw it, liked it, and since two of his daughters were Tri-Delts who helped paint it, left it there. It has been there ever since and, I'm betting, will remain there as long as there are several thousands of coeds, both past and present, who, upon seeing it, remember me and get all weak at the knees.

And that, my friends, is the true story of the origin of the Eye of the Tiger. Don't believe me? Just catch me at a game this fall or on the beach in Ft Walton/Destin this summer and I will show you the original.

All hail to me, billybowlegs: direct descendant of blood-thirsty pirates and the originator of the Eye of the Tiger!
