The Dallas Morning News did an open records request for all email related to our move from the Big 12 to the SEC. You have to be a subscriber to view the article, so the only email I've seen is this one that someone else uploaded to their own website. It's apparently an email from Byrne to himself on the reasons for leaving. It's a very good inside look at what it's like dealing with Texas and former Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe.

Have you seen the emails from the OU president's office? They were published in the Tulsa paper a few weeks back. Some of them are hilarious, others disturbing. So glad to be out of that shite hole conference.

I've seen this email.

quote:

David:
For decades, you have had – and continue to win -- my deepest respect and highest admiration.
Watching you in Washington was to see a rarity in modern public life – a true statesman. I know that, by God’s grace, your statesmanship can preserve this conference. Boards of Regents come and go. But their legacy will remain forever. And hanging in the balance is this great conference of the
heartland.

The great coaching staff of the University of Oklahoma has thrived and will continue to do so in the Big 12 Conference. Moreover, your wonderful student athletes, and those in their precious families benefit greatly by the close proximity of your institution to our current Big 12 members. I hope and, frankly, fervently pray that you can persuade your Board that to bring the conference of the heartland to a nigh-unto-death experience is inconsistent with the best interests of the families who believe in the University of Oklahoma.

My Sunday morning pre-worship thought is this: You, an acclaimed Governor, Senator and university
president for seventeen years, have been summoned to serve for a time like this. I urge you to hold
this conference together.

Respectfully, Ken

Yeah, it's either bullshite or he is an immature prick. Neither would surprise me.

Continuing to talk about it makes these aggies appear butthurt.

It's a letter to himself. He doesn't have to be professional in it.

And butthurt about what? We won. We wanted SEC and got it.

It's believed Byrne wasn't the biggest fan of the move but who gives an eff. He's retiring next year. Dr. Loftin is the man

Does he often publish letters to himself? Have you read his diary as well?

Sure you did.

He didn't publish it. He emailed it to himself and it was obtained via FOIA

And how did we not win? We decided to go to the SEC because it was best for us and we did. Why would we be butthurt?

You're either trolling, didn't pay attention to realignment, or not very bright. I'm going to hope for troll

If you won, you would stop bitching about Texas every 5 minutes. Until then, you are still under the UT shadow. Which is ok, I'm sure there is a nice cool breeze to go along with your 5-5 season.

You will have won once you win a National Championship. Until then, you are just losers in a different conference.

I started this thread, and it wasn't out of any kind of obsession with Bevo. The letter is a look inside a process which is normally unseen by the average fan. I also posted a letter from Ken Starr. Do you think I am obsessed with Baylor as well?

BTW, yes, Bill Byrne is one egotistical SOB. It's part of the reason that he is good at his job.

yea, posting something that had to be obtained by FOIA through a major newspaper and gives a deeper look into the thought process of why we left is bitching.

get over yourself brah.

never mind that it shows an unsettling side of ESPN who is clearly trying to manipulate the situation.

Do you even believe this? Cause no LSU fans I know believe that A&M's obsession and little brother syndrome are about to be magically cured now that you are losing to a different set of teams.

You know if my mom hadn't gone to LSU and if I hadn't spent big chunks of my summers at my cousins' house in Mandeville, you would lead me to believe that LSU fans were the biggest douchebags in America. As it is, I understand that your douchebaggery has nothing to do with your school.

Must have hit the nail on the head to get you all riled up like that. If pointing out the simple truth of your obsession is douchebaggery, then so be it. Maybe your mom can wipe away your tears.

I second, Dabo. I'm born and bred Coonass. I know more LSU fans than Aggies. TK is definitely full of shite and a little bitch.

Now go troll on the soccer board where nobody has to see your sorry arse
