No, Bama would be the stronger team because Oregon lost worse than them.

Not saying that it won't, but the Pac-12 South is being led by a weak-arse UCLA team since ASU choked it away on Saturday.

A win there would not do much for them.

Two competing forces:

Bama is the better team.

Bama's loss is worse in all actuality. How you can lose at home and only score 6 points and not be punished is beyond me?

If either Stanford or Oklahoma State wins out the voters won't put much effort into the rankings at the end of the year because they know it wouldn't matter but if both lose look for a pretty good shakeup.

I hope not, I'd much rather see a Bama-LSU rematch than Oregon-Lsu. I'd prefer to see Boise if they're the only undefeated left, but that wont happen.

If Oklahoma St. loses to Oklahoma and Oregon beats Stanford this weekend and then beats UCLA (or whoever) in the PAC12 championship. Oregon will leap Alabama in the final polls and play LSU.

Oregon might even be ranked #3 in the human polls but the computers will jump them past Alabama.
12-1 Oregon is better in the computers than 11-1 Alabama.

This is pretty much what happened to LSU in 2003. We were 3 in the human polls at 12-1 and lept USC who didn't have a championship game at 11-1.

LSU - Oregon rematch is very possible.

i was wondering if an additional win, no matter who it was against, would have to be of some benefit for Oregon.

Oregon still has USC left, which win will still count in the computers. Plus if USC beats UCLA, Oregon will get ASU to further enhance their resume.

it doesn't necessarily, but Oregon would probably be ranked #2 in the human polls by virture of winning their conference.

This might help when studying the craziness of the BCS system

2003 BCS

scroll all the way down to the week of Dec 6th -after the SEC CG. Notice how prior to championship weekend It was #1 Oklahoma 12-0, #2 USC 11-1, #3 LSU 11-1.

After we win the SEC CG and Oklahoma loses the Big 12 Championship game it changes to USC#1 LSU #2, Oklahoma #3 in the human polls. But the only two 12-1 teams became the top 2 in the BCS polls
BCS
I still don't think undefeated Boise St. gets in there.

Disagree with you Rummie.

They'd have beaten Stanford, Arizona St. USC and a PAC 12 champ. game.

Regardless, why should Alabama get a rematch without winning a conference game and Oregon, a conference champion, get left out?

Alabama hasn't played anyone either.
