Unfortunately it's a casualty of the system... Honestly, tell me a game you'd take off that list and replace it with AC:R? All five of those games are legit, just so happens that AC:R came out in a year where there were a ton of amazing games.

Portal 2 and Zelda could easily be replaced by BF3, MW3 and AC:R, Honestly I think it would be a tighter race if it was the latter but now its a 3 man showdown between UC3 Arkham City and Skyrim IMO

I agree. That is one of the most legit GoY nominee lists I've ever seen. I think it goes to Skyrim or Arkham City personally.

As far as Spike yeah i agree but remember all of these titles will more than likely get a Game of the Year award, for sure Skyrim, Uncharted and Arkham City will all get multiple GOY and the others will too

Yes. I would put COD up against Portal and Zelda all day long and loved Portal.
