I don't find Theriot to be very likable.

Berkman on the other hand... chance to be a hero yet again.

Have you ever heard him talk about himself? He's the biggest blow-hard I've ever seen.

He advanced the runners and the rest is a team effort with a lot going to Freeze. Im stoked after skinning a deer and only being able to start watching this game in the 8th.

He made contact...that's about it. Effective, but didn't change anything as Berkman's hit would've scored both runners anyway.

If it was effective, it had to change something. (which it did)

I like that you recognize something effective when you see it.

Now your interpretation of baseball, that's another story.

Can't believe there is an argument about the "effectiveness" of the Theriot at bat. It was NOT effective...and there isn't even a debate to be had. Yes, he drove in a run...but so what? It was a meaningless run. When Theriot stepped to the plate, the tying run was at second. When his at bat ended, the tying run was still at second. The Cardinal's situation was no better after he batted than before...and anyone who can't see this is a damned fool.

Meaningless? Your a fricking moronic idiot. If he strikes out they dont win. He gets at hit he is a hero (maybe). What he did is exactly what needed to happen for the events to unfold. That's baseball. Do really think they want to improve on his at bat experience. Sorry if I offended, but this is baseball.

If he strikes out, they still walk Pujols with first base open...and Berkman's single is worth 2 runs instead of 1...but the same net result. Tie game.
