Is there a way that I can change the view of the board to be able to see new responses to topics? Other boards I roam seem to have new posts to threads in bold letters. I'm not familiar with the properties here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We don't have that option, but there is a last post link on the furthest right-hand side that will bring you to the last post in the thread.
