Will this be the lowlight of his golfing career? Not considering off course issues.

You've got to think so. It would be the first time he's ever missed back to back cuts. And it would be at the frys. I got a feeling we might see a WD today related to an "injury".

I would say yes.

It's not like his game is gone, it was reported he shot 62 at Isleworth last week. Granted that's his home track but that's still getting it. He's just mentally like scrambled eggs right now and I think it's gonna take something big to jolt him back right.

It's called doubt. Back in his prime, he absolutely believed he was invincible. Ever since his crash, he's allowed doubt to creep in. Those little blemishes he used to be able to ignore now probably seem like insurmountable problems to him right now.

Before if he hit a bad shot or missed a putt, it would be the spark that lit a fire under his arse. Now when it happens, he starts to think,"Oh shite, here it comes," like a normal golfer.

Agree. In the glory days you hardly ever saw him miss a putt inside 15' that he had to make.

Now, he putts like I used to.

I have been saying this about his MENTAL edge he had over other players since he tried to come back the 1st time. And I got bashed for it. I still don't believe he will EVER get the TIGER factor back. The other golfers are just NOT intimidated by him any more.

It's probably a combination of a lot of things y'all are saying here, but putting has to be at the top of the list. Yesterday he ropes a 6 iron to 4 feet and doesn't even draw iron on the putt..a total airball on the high side with a poor stroke. never thought I'd see his putting be so bad.

Yep. In the glory days if he had the lead or was tied for the lead Sunday morning, everybody else was playing for 2nd place and they knew it.

It's all about his putting. He could've won at Augusta numerous times since 2005 had his putting been better there. And of course yesterday was really really bad

See this is what makes me want to stop talking about the mental issue. It's getting old.

He bombs a drive but blocks his iron shot right. It's mental.
Or he hits an iron shot right on and he blows the putt. It's mental.
He drains a putt but hits his tee shot on the next hole 50 feet left. It's mental.

Out of the top 200 people on the money list this year Tim Clark is the only person other than Tiger that played in less than 10 tournaments, and that was due to injury. In 2011, Tiger has played in 9 tournaments. In 2010, Tiger played in 12 tournaments and finished in the 60s on the money list. In 2008, Tiger played in only 6 tournaments and won 3 of them.

There is no one else on the PGA Tour that has played less competitive golf over the last 2 years than Tiger. Heck, there's probably no one that's played less than Tiger in the last 4 seasons. But, people really think he's done?

At least let him get to the point where he's playing in 15 tournaments/year again (that's still almost 10 less than the majority of other pros). He's going to have to actually play competitively in order to play good golf. He's taken too much time off and hasn't played enough.

At this point, it is extremely premature to say he is done. Heck, in the last 4 years he hasn't even had 12 month period where he's been healthy and playing regularly. It's going to take him a while to get back.

I will say this: If he can't get a full offseason and season under his belt without injuries, he might be done.

Absolutely. The fall series is pretty weak. If he doesn't make the cut here, it's got to put some serious doubts in his mind about his ability to play right now.

He was quoted earlier in the week about hoping he'd be able to make it to Stanford's football game tomorrow. He may not have to worry too much about that.

It is incredible to see how mental golf really is. None of his skills have left him, his head just isn't there anymore (as much as he says it is). He lost his swag. He no longer has the "I am the best in the world" mindset that we all know he had for years.

Not that it matters, but the 62 was at the Medalist in Florida.

Decent start, with a par on 1 and a birdie on 2 ... but then failed to take advantage of the par 5 3rd, so at +1 overall through 3 holes. Bogeyed par 4 13th hole (started on back 9), so now at +2 for the tournament through 22 holes.
