Great article, full of useful information:

quote:

Hebert, LSU's most versatile lineman who also plays center, is expected back Saturday when the Tigers (5-0, 2-0 Southeastern Conference) host No. 17 Florida (4-1, 2-1 SEC) at 2:30 p.m. in Tiger Stadium.

quote:

Against Kentucky, a season-high 10 offensive linemen played, including true freshman tackle/guard La'el Collins, junior guard Matt Branch of Sterlington, sophomore tackle Chris Davenport of Mansfield and sophomore center Ben Domingue of Lafayette.

quote:

If Hebert does return at left guard for the Florida game Saturday, LSU should have its first-team offensive line together again for the first time since early in the Mississippi State with Faulk at left tackle, Hebert at left tackle, P.J. Lonergan at center, Blackwell at right guard and Hurst at right tackle. But Shaw, Williford, Collins and company will be ready if needed.

So glad we're deep and talented again, seems like it's been awhile.

We've been banged up all season along the O-line. We will need them to really step up because our YPC hasn't been what I expected it to be at this point.

YPP isn't any better either.
I'll take the points, though.

Agree. And TOP has been very good. So my complaint isn't really a complaint just a concern for games against teams like Bama. And UF.

The fact that the O gets first downs and can move the chains has helped the D so much this year.

Yeah I think that comes back to TOP. So even though we've not run the ball as explosively as I would like, the fact that we are able to sustain drives and move the chains has greatly helped the defense.

Yeah. Especially when you look at what happened to Miss. St since they lost 2 OL.

They went from leading the conference in Rushing, to barely being able to beat La. Tech.

Third down efficiency, turnovers and points are the only stats we need to concern ourselves with offensively. Rushing attempts is also important if we think TOP is critical. And we do.
