.....of the race card being played everytime somebody makes a critical comment about Jordan Jefferson?
I sure as hell am. I don't "hate" Jordan Jefferson. I also didn't force him to break curfew and get into a fight which ultimately resulted in a suspension.
The fact is, Jarrett Lee has made the most of his opportunity. If anybody says that the QB play isn't the best we've seen since 2007, then my question to you is, "What's your fricking agenda?"
Welcome baack, Jj. As long as you will. Accept your role and support Jarrett Lee THE WAY HE HAS SUPPORTED. YOU, I'm glad to have you back.

JJ has my support, as long as he mans-up and accepts his role as the back-up QB. If he causes a distraction, or attempts to bring attention to himself, all bets are off. Likewise, I fully support Les Miles, as he has done a great job, but my support will waver if he attempts to insert JJ into the starting role, without JLee doing something to deserve getting benched.

it's a low level argument that is easy to make. However, there is no doubt that some of the Lee supporters are fueled by race. If it weren't so disgusting, I'd post the email I got right after the Oregon game...

SmackDaniels,
Hear ya. But I was over on the Recruiting. Board, and some idiot is saying that "If I were. A young. Black man, I would rather go anywhere. Than LSU."
I mean, wtf? Nobody has done anything to JJ. He caused his own problems. But instead of some people understanding that, they want to lash out at the LSU fanbase.
Maybe we need a sticky addressing that situation?

Let's see ... what you call the "race card" is just simple recognition--which this board brings out quite well--that this fan base is made up of a significant number of ignorant, threatened white rednecks of all ages, who can't wait until there is a failing with a Jamarcus Russell or Jordan Jefferson, so they can then say in so many words that he was just another N-word.
They are very good sheeple of the Lee Atwater school of thought. They can't openly be racist, but of course use code words like "JJ acts like he's entitled" and "JJ's lazy" to code their racism.
Don't believe me?
Here's what Lee Atwater himself said and here's how the Republicans have pretty much taken over the redneck south:
You start out in 1954 by saying, "N***r, n***r, n***er." By 1968 you can't say "n***r" — that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states' rights and all that stuff. You're getting so abstract now [that] you're talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you're talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is [that] blacks get hurt worse than whites.
And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me — because obviously sitting around saying, "We want to cut this," is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than "N***r, n***r."--Lee Atwater.
Many on this board have mastered their daddy Atwater's mode of operation.

The guy was done a major injustice by the BRPD.
Hopefully NOW we can at least all agree on that.
It is flatly unbelievable that ANY TigerFan would want JJ not to be able to rejoin the team. Hateful and Ridiculous.
Is it racism?
Probably not, because it almost certainly originates from the same nitwit group who hoped Jarrett Lee would transfer or that ZM should start in front of him. Because he was irresponsibly charged, JJ has essentially suffered 5 game suspension and lost his starting spot on the #1 team in the country. All for something JJ may or may not be guilty of, but almost certainly will not be convicted of.
Enough already!

Definitely. Not all, but hey, this is the South we are talking about.
The situation is a "perfect storm"--the White Boy who got there by "hard work" and here comes the thug, playa, rappa black to get something he is not entitled to.

Totally agree with the OP. Strong feelings against a black guy aren't always because he is black. I'd bet there are more racists FOR Jefferson and against Lee than the other way around.

Whoever wrote this was probably a fan from an opposing team and was acting like he was an LSU fan. Our whole defense is black and I LOVE those players. Don't judge a whole fanbase on the writings and venom spit by a few dumb and ignorant fans.
