Our Pass-defense is still best, but...

"Taylor said the film study showed LSU missed 17 tackles that added up to 106 yards. But LSU Coach Les Miles sees the inflated yardage numbers as an anomaly and not a trend."

Our missed tackles are a major concern, with UF and Bama going forward. Those games will be close, I.e. MooState...and the difference of winning and losing. Chavis needs to get a handle on this, and correct asap.

After watching the game a couple of times, I've concluded most of the missed tackles were a combination of over-aggressiveness and poor technique. Both can easily be fixed.

I'll get abused for this, but easy fix = focus on the fundamentals and not the highlight reel and taunting/trash talking.

I think this is probably a major factor in the poor tackling. Everyone sees #7 make a great play, and guys start flying around trying to dulicate or make the next great play, and lose sight of the basic, just tackle the ball carrier.

No abuse from my end. The trash-talking may have something to do with it.

I have no problem with a defense that takes the field with an attitude, but it doesn't have to add a lot of histrionics after each tackle.

It was no accident that Gino was throwing a lot of underneath stuff in Mo's direction. Kudos for an incredible runback, but he missed a number of tackles, for sure.

The celebratory gesticulations are ridiculous and should be discontinued. They speak poorly of the actor and the team.

Heard that our pass defense is ranked 79th in the country, statistically.

Clearly, we are better than that.

I really think our DBs underestimated the speed/quickness/athletic ability of the WVU playmakers. Alot of bad angles to go with the missed tackles.

A perfect example of how a few plays can affect a drive. After we botched our opening 2nd half drive that would have put the game out of reach, WV took over and there were 2 passes that should have been intercepted by Taylor and Reid that would have killed that drive but instead WV drove for a TD that put them back in the game. Those are the type of plays that I am sure the DB's were kicking themselves over in reviewing film.

Again. WVU threw the ball 65 f ng times. They had a ton of turnovers because of it and they should of had even more. Of coarse they got a lot of yards and moved the ball. They would have done the same on Alabama

Still doesn't excuse the shitty tackling.
Hopefully it is an anomaly.
