Is it officially a Triple Crown if you finish tied with someone?

What if Matt Kemp were to finish with a higher average and RBI's than anyone else in the league but finish with the same amount of HR's as Pujols. Is he the triple crown winner?

Yes, Joe Medwick is a triple crown winner and he tied Mel Ott for home runs that year.

imagine a triple crown winner that steals 40 bases, who doesn't win the MVP

Kemp is first in HR, first in RBI, second in BA, has 40+ steals, plays good defense

Best player in NL, imo

The Dodgers, as awful as they are, may have the MVP and Cy Young on their team. When is the last time a team as bad as the Dodgers had a Cy Young winner and MVP on their team?

Somehow, the Dodgers are a game over .500. I bet almost no one was aware of this.

Also, interestingly enough, Halladay, not Kershaw or Verlander, has the highest FIP, xFIP, and WAR (according to Fangraphs). Doc also had a godly BB/9 and HR/9.

While I expect Kershaw to win this award, Halladay would be a really good choice as well. My vote would go towards the Doc. I would say that he has been the best pitcher (or pretty damn close) for about years now.

I would vote Kemp, Halladay, Bautista, and Verlander as my MVP's and Cy Young's in 2011.

Was I saying he shouldn't win it? no.

voters tend to vote in favor of making the playoffs. Why I feel like they'll give it to a guy like Braun.

(all though it's happened with Howard in 06 and A-rod in 03)

so I take that back.

Haha no joke over at the gamecock board I made predictions and picked Kershaw and Braun Cy Young MVP in the preseason.

(I mean it's not that bold, but I feel special with that one ahah)

I also thought LA would win the west, that one failed me.
