One improvement we will make at launch is to add a video games upgrade option, similar to our upgrade option for Blu-ray, for those who want to rent Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 games. Members have been asking for video games for many years, and now that DVD by mail has its own team, we are finally getting it done.

sounds enticing, but I doubt I'll be getting it either. it's somewhat insulting that they think renaming one branch of the service is going to eliminate my issues with the pricing changes.

I'm all for more competition in the mail-based game rental market though. I don't have a gamefly account, but this news should light a fire under their arse.

I've always heard the turn around time on games with gamefly was sorely lacking. Netflix, or I guess Quikster now, was always good about keeping the supply of movies flowing. usually only took a day or two to get a new disc in.

Depending on how the service is setup this may be better for me than Netflix + Qwikster + Gamefly.

If they service is a few dollars a month and I can have a movie and a game out at the same time, has a good library and still the same quick turnaround I would drop Gamefly. I am not impressed with the speed of their service. I sent a game back last Tuesday and still have not gotten another game.

It's not turn-around time it's availability that is screwing you. I wouldn't be surprised if Qwikster suffers from the same problem.

I will likely drop Gamefly and try this out.

I'd be interested to see how it works, especially with a combination of Netflix & Qwikster. My fear is that a large portion of the netflix subscriber base might try it out, and the portion that does might be bigger than all of gamefly, and I can't imagine that will help out supply problems.

Well Netflix is a much bigger company than Gamefly, so it is very possible they will ultimately have a larger supply.

Could be, I'm going to be watching and potentially switching from GF so I hope it goes well.
