With the big east going away, I think they wait for Notre Dame to realize that you have to be in a conference and that there'll be no Notre Dame clause in the era of super-conferences and bcs.
Or they wait and see since you can aruge that except for Notre Dame there's no slam dunk perfect member. I think Rutgers intrigues them, but there's the money issus. Does adding the big ten network to basic cable in NJ--which is nothing to sneeze at--even it out money-wise and if having big ten teams come to the NYC market albeit in New Jersey will be of added benefit. If they take Rutgers the big ten will be closer to manhattan than Syracuse and with Penn State they can claim a portion of the East Coast.
ND and Rutgers is the perfect scenario for 14 in my opinion.

The B1G has to wait for the dominos to fall and when they do theyll get Notre Dame. After that, i suspect it will be either Missouri, Kansas, Kansas St, Iowa St. IMO all the B1G really wants is Notre Dame. Notre Dame brings you a national audience, so the other additions realistically dont need to be homeruns. Ohio St, Michigan, Nebraska, Penn St and Notre Dame all in conference is good enough for the B1G brass i assume.

My dream of Texas to the Big 10 appears to be vanishing.....

Texas just isn't worth the hassle to a smart conference like the Big 10.

Kansas, Kansas St, Iowa St.
+ ND if the big east dissolves
+ Mizzou if the big east doesnt dissolve and ND stays independent in football
