Each #Pac-16 school would play every school in its "pod" plus 2 teams from each of the other pods. 9 conference games per year.

#Pac16 champ game would be decided by overall conference record, meaning any two teams could play in the championship game on a given year.

I see SEC pods becoming imminent as well if this goes through.

If you are going to have 16 teams, then 4 div is really the only way to maintain overall conference unity. You need to minimize the number of permanent opponents.

Wonder what SEC pods would look like?

If they do a 3-2-2-2 format, then one of Bama-Tenn, Bama-AU, AU-UGA, or UF-UGA has to die.

Pods aren't possible unless we go to 16.

Yeah, I know. But I'm just going off the foregone conclusion that all of the big 4 conferences will be at 16 sooner or later

Oh but I thought the round robin is what made their conference so great. Not sure about this pod idea.

This

It's competetive and it keeps most of the rivalries together.
