Any team can have them. Just those three have them for tradition.

OK, but what other college teams number their field every five yards?

LSU, FSU, and Washington State are the only team with H-style goal posts

Here's a question for you:

I can't speak for the other teams but why does LSU have the "H" type goal posts?

Yes, I know the answer. I want to see if you do. Just some trivia for you.

So they can run through them when they come out of the tunnel, which is aligned with them. Plus, it would mess up TGBFTL if they weren't.

lsu has special permission from the NCAA to have an H style goal post. i also believe painting every 5 yards also needs special permission but im not 100% on that.

I was reading earlier, some teams use H style posts during rivalry games to avoid the fans tearing them down after the game. Don't know why you'd spend the money to only have them 1 game.
