Why are Texas Rangers games blacked out in Houston on MLB.TV?

Ridiculous. My son wanted to watch the Rangers game tonight (his favorite player right now is Kinsler), so I signed up for MLB.TV, only to find out that we can't watch it.
What gives?
I can understand not being able to get games that are on TV in your local area, but I am not aware that the Rangers game is being televised in Houston tonight...

Houston is within the Ranger's blackout area. Even if you have FSSW-Dallas through your cable, you'd be out of luck. Friday night games are only shown on the local channel, KTXA.

As a fellow Houstonian, I believe the Rangers Friday night games are broadcast on the local DFW channel 21.

If you have Direct tv, Friday games are on 675-1.

I've had mlb.tv for a while. BR is in the rangers blackout area when they are home.

I bought the MLB package through Cox last year when I lived in BR and all of the Rangers home games were blacked out too. I don't get it. I called and they could never give me an answer as to why there blacked out.
